In today’s world, everyone is constantly on the go – whether it’s running to work, school or even staying on top of the gym flow. As such, it can be quite the challenge to maintain the connectivity between our daily activities as the day progresses. However, ambient user experience is sweeping the world as one of the most convenient and effective approaches to how business users stay connected in this ever-changing world.

So what’s the skinny on ambient user experience? Well, as a business user, you understand that one moment you’re in the office, then meeting clients in their office and in the next moment you’re grabbing a bite to eat while also working on a deadline and pressed for time. This is where ambient user experience steps in and saves the day. What business users need more than anything is an IT solution that adapts to the rapid and constant changes within their daily schedules.

Ambient user experience is the process by which the technology adapts to the changing outcomes in their daily routines. An example of this? A mobile worker who is in the office using a computer for a brief moment then runs to a meeting across town and is now working from their phone or possibly a tech watch.

So, the ambient user experience can span from mobile notifications, wearables, location-based commerce to office apps and the internet of things (IoT).

The idea behind the ambient user experience is that the nomadic worker never loses momentum and keeps the productive workflow constant throughout the day or over an extended period of time within their hectic schedules. There are no qualms about the time in the day, the device in which you are using or even the space that you are working in. All of these confinements are eliminated when you embrace this frame of work.

As the environment changes for the business user, the technology is altered to best assist the business user at that present moment. There is much speculation that the ambient user experience will only continue to prosper, and in more than one way.

Firstly mobile notifications are on the constant, not only for business users, but for all tech users alike. And what’s really great about push notifications is that their prompts quickly catch the attention of the user. Additionally, because they adhere to location, the accuracy in the information being sent and received is on par. So, specifically with retail apps, users will receive promotional notifications upon arrival of a store location. Additionally, business users will receive notifications from workplace apps, like Microsoft Outlook.

And what else? Wearable computing is making it easier than ever to receive notifications in real time from any location to enhance the mobile experience. Preemptive search is also increasingly on the rise and enhancing the way users seek information. As you’re well aware of by now, search engines like Siri, Ok Google and others are interacting directly with users to approach each new task according to the time of day, location and device being used.

The ambient user experience is bound to massively enhance the way in which the mobile employee conducts their work. Business users have access to a plethora of tech outlets that fully accommodate them wherever they are working from; making them more capable of balancing their work tasks throughout their hectic schedules.
